Siegfried's Acceleration Hub is the latest addition to the Siegfried network. Located in Grafton (WI), we provide comprehensive support to customers in from early phase pre-clinical and clinical development, through scale up and validation up to and including commercial manufacturing of Drug Substances.

Within this context, we are currently looking to fill the newly created position of Maintenance Engineer. In this role you will focus on prioritizing and coordinating maintenance activities, manage inventory, and you will work closely with the maintenance manager and technicians to troubleshoot and resolve issues. You will lead the predictive and preventive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and optimal performance of equipment.

Your role

  • Oversee the predictive maintenance program to preempt equipment failures and improve system reliability.
  • Prioritize, plan, and coordinate corrective and preventive maintenance work orders, collaborating with initiators, identifying work scope, and organizing resources, parts, and labor across trades.
  • Provide engineering support on maintenance-related issues, including root cause analysis, equipment performance evaluation, and minor redesigns or specification adjustments for improved efficiency.
  • Monitor equipment performance and proactively identify critical equipment requiring condition monitoring; implement programs for regular analysis to minimize breakdowns.
  • Optimize and maintain the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) by defining data standards, tracking maintenance work, and recommending adjustments to preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Manage and advise on maintenance inventory, ensuring necessary spares are kept at optimal levels, and make recommendations for stock, surplus items, and rental equipment.
  • Develop and refine maintenance standards, outage plans, and overhaul strategies, regularly reviewing them to ensure cost-effective, efficient, and complete execution.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Maintenance, or Chemical Engineering or a related technical degree
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong expertise in the design, installation, repair, and reconditioning of pharmaceutical equipment, including dryers, centrifuges, reactors, heat exchangers, pumps, PLCs, and instrumentation
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and isometrics
  • Skilled in identifying and implementing critical equipment monitoring techniques for preventive maintenance and reliability
  • Experience redesigning equipment to extend operational life and minimize maintenance needs based on trend analysis and failure history
  • Familiarity with cGMP requirements, regulatory standards, facility certifications, PM programs, and Blue Mountain, SAP or similar CMMS is a plus
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively with diverse teams
