Your role

The Maintenance Technician supports all aspects of the manufacturing and facility maintenance efforts at Siegfried Acceleration Hub, Grafton.  The maintenance department provides the capacity to manufacture pharmaceuticals in an efficient, timely, and safe manner, thereby contributing to the profitability of the company by maintaining or modifying all utility, facility, and production equipment and systems. The Maintenance Technician installs, repairs and/or maintains machinery and mechanical equipment and production machines and equipment. This role is expected to be available for 24-hour on-call duty.
• Perform preventive and routine maintenance on manufacturing equipment
• Work as an independent mechanic for all machinery repair efforts on the shift assigned under the direction of the Manager Maintenance and with appreciable direction from senior maintenance staff and within the guidance established
• Perform preventive and routine maintenance procedures on various type of production machinery
• Document all activities for work performed in the required manner
• Participate in enhancements and expansions to current facility, including all aspects of new equipment set-up and installations
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Understand and assist in implementing safety procedures and cGMPs
• Repair tooling, electrical equipment and machinery including the creation of tooling, fabrication and repair of parts as needed
• Support facility maintenance activities as needed

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Work environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; explosives; risk of radiation and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required 
  • High school education or equivalent with some technical courses, preferably in mechanical, industrial or commercial equipment repair
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing environment Preferred 
  •  Associate’s degree from 2-year college or technical school
