Your role

The incumbent provides overall leadership to assigned production shift. Duties include operator job assignments and process troubleshooting. Acts as primary management representative during off shifts and weekends, including responsibility for the overall safety of the employees on site and all buildings and equipment, and as initial Incident Command during emergency response.
• Ensure manufacturing operations are efficiently carried out in compliance with all government regulations and company policies and procedures.
• Ensures that the personal and departmental moral, ethical, legal, and behavioral conduct is in compliance with the Siegfried Code of Conduct
• Implements and adheres to all applicable SHE and cGMP regulations
• Follow and adhere to Leader Standardized Work for Shift Supervisors
• Coordinate and oversee the assignment, training, development, and motivation of employees to ensure attainment of short and long-term goals. 
• Lead and support problem solving and/or trouble-shooting activities as needed to ensure continuing operations.
• Perform and train manufacturing operations and serve as the lead operator in these activities
• Coordinates time off requests of operators to provide coverage. This includes posting of OT sheets and coordinating vacation and personal time off requests. 
• Assists area management in reviewing production schedules, metrics, and investigates variances as appropriate.
• Assist area management in supporting the Siegfried Quality System, including management of manufacturing deviations, and changes to equipment, processes and documents.
• Coordinates with maintenance to ensure safe and effective execution of maintenance activities in assigned are(s) (i.e., safe work / hot work permits, lockout/tagout, and confined space entry) 
• Serves as Incident Commander during emergency response.
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Your profile

• A four (4) year degree in life or physical sciences, engineering, or equivalent technical field, or equivalent related experience within pharmaceutical or a fine chemical manufacturing.
• 3 - 5 years hands-on experience with chemical process unit operations, preferably in a pharmaceutical or a fine chemical facility. • Working knowledge of computer systems, such as Delta V, SAP, and Microsoft Office preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred. 
Strong knowledge of cGMP regulations for active pharmaceutical ingredients is strongly preferred. 
• Knowledge of Process Improvement methodology (i.e., Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or 5S) a plus
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build, motivate and develop high performing teams through excellent supervisory and coaching skills.
Trained as an On-Scene Incident Commander for emergency response or have the ability to obtain certification. 
 Strong technical trouble-shooting skills
• Ability to work in a team environment 
• Must be able to work different shift models, including 12 hour rotating shifts, and work overtime as needed to fill in for other shift supervisors.
• Must be able to pass a respirator fit test and maintain clean-shaven for proper respirator fit.
